Brake systems specialist company braking joins Sefo group

SEFO Group further expands its product range by welcoming the 150-time world champion brand of motorcycle, bicycle, and ATV/UTV brake systems

Ponte Alla Chiassa (AR) – Giussano (MB), 30th September 2024 – SEFO Holding, controlled by the Metrika fund and owner of the CNC Racing and Lightech brands, further expands its product offering by adding Braking’s high-performance motorcycle and bicycle brake systems to its Group.

Founded in 1990 and part of Sunstar Engineering since 2004, Braking specializes in motorcycle brake systems for the aftermarket, as well as bicycle brake systems for both OEMs and the aftermarket, with a strong presence in the off-road segment.

Braking’s catalog includes innovative, patented solutions covering all components of brake systems. The brand’s quality and expertise are internationally recognized, as demonstrated by the professional teams that use Braking products.

The integration of Braking into SEFO Group marks a new phase of development with the following key objectives:

  • Cooperation in international distribution, particularly in the aftermarket.
  • Expansion of the product portfolio with new technical solutions.
  • Implementation of accessories in the bike and e-bike sectors.
  • Commercial and industrial alignment in production.

Wally Palen, Senior Executive Officer for Europe and the Americas at Sunstar Engineering, stated, “In our motorcycle business, we have decided to place a greater strategic focus on our OEM operations for Europe and the Americas. Therefore, we are delighted that Braking will continue its journey as part of SEFO Group.”

To ensure continuity for Braking’s customers, Laura Borsari will continue as Managing Director. With 25 years of experience at Braking, Ms. Borsari has been instrumental in expanding the brand and developing new segments, such as bike and e-bike.
